The consultation for corporation

In 2010, South Africa joined Brazil, Russia, India and China to form BRICS, an acronym representing these five major emerging economies. At the time, China was South Africa’s largest trading partner. In the same year, under the Beijing Declaration, the Chinese government elevated South Africa’s diplomatic status to that of a Comprehensive Strategic Partner.

Since 2007, Sino-South African relations have developed through increased trade and stronger political ties. By 2016, more than 140 medium-sized and large Chinese companies were operating in South Africa, with investments valued at approximately US$13 billion and employing an estimated 30,000 South Africans.
